Visual storyteller for couples in love.

I specialize in helping plan and documenting Elopements in Michigan. My photography style leans more documentary. I use invisible direction to create a story instead of giving stiff poses. Think more “walk that way and take in the view” and less “put your hands here, look this direction, and smile”. I create in an authentic and artistic way. Your photos aren’t going to look like every other client of mine. I prefer to keep the art true to what it felt and looked like, with

just a twinge of nostalgic warmth added.

I’m a noticer-of-small-details, the little moments, the ones that easily get missed or overlooked. The unconsciously fiddling with the new wedding band on your finger, a parent’s tearful reaction to hearing your partner’s vows to you, etc.
With a growing family, I only take a limited amount of elopements and couples sessions a year. This allows me to pour all of my passion and creativity into the bookings I do take.

I’ve photographed hundreds of couples in my 8 years of full time photography.

I hear “we’re so awkward in photos” A LOT; and while every new couple I meet and photograph is unique, I have yet to meet a couple that sticks by that statement after working with me. I work hard to create a unique and comfortable photo experience for you.

My passion for documenting life in an authentic way began when we found mold in our home.

We had to get rid of most of our belongings and flee to recover our health. In the months prior to that discovery, we had done a documentary photo session in our home. I TREASURE those photos now. We were just living life, no posing, in the home we love and miss. Thus inspired my switch to help plan and create experiences for my clients, and document the real moments, instead of posing.
Because in the test of time, pretty poses can’t compete with real life.

I pretty much always have a camera and a latte in each hand.

Along with “Photographer”, my titles include wife, mama, antique hunter, amateur playlist creator, and follower of Jesus. Photography is a way to worship the Creator for me. I’m always on the search for new adventures, new coffee shops, and new love stories to tell.
